Jeannie Chandler grew up in the foothills of Colorado in a little town called Kittredge. Her family owned the original bunkhouse that the ranch hands lived in, which was situated up on the hill above the Kittredge Ranch. Wildlife was in abundance and she was very familiar and comfortable with the environment, including garter snakes by the creek, and occasional black bear encounters.

From her earliest years, Jeannie developed a love to read, write and teach. One of her fondest memories is the little library right next to the Post Office. She would frequent it regularly. After the visit, she would take the long walk home with a big stack of children’s books to read for the week.

Today, Jeannie is an avid writer, author, educator, and environmentalist. Her books weave a theme to help readers better appreciate and understand the world around them.

Her goal is to always provide a moral message in her material that can benefit her readers.
